The Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development is a multi-year sponsor and participant of the Latin America Women in Ocean Food Innovation Studio. The studio is actively working to address gender disparities by hosting an equity-free, business support program for female founders and leadership teams driving change in the blue economy. The program equips startup founders, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to build solutions and drive change across sustainable aquaculture, marine biotech, seafood value chains, ocean conservation, and blue carbon. Participants receive mentorship from global industry experts, curated connections, and ongoing post-program support. Women led startups generally earn 2x as much per dollar invested than those owned by men in cumulative revenue over 5 years. Shared ownership models are commonly adopted. WIOF is part of a global network of innovation studios and aquaculture programs led by Hatch Blue.
