The Foundation is a founding sponsor of the StartBlue accelerator led by Scripps Institution of Oceanography & Rady School of Management. StartBlue began in 2021 to support the formation of San Diego based advanced science and engineering startups bringing ocean-focused solutions. In 2025, StartBlue expanded to be an intensive four month program designed to help ocean intelligence startups, from across the nation, launch and scale to support and grow the Blue Economy. Mary Ann Beyster is an member of the Advisory Committee.
